Anche la musica celebra i propri Oscar con i Grammy Awards. La 57ma edizione, svoltasi presso lo Staples Center di Los Angeles, è stata un mix di performance live e di premiazioni, un concerto in cui si sono esibiti, tra gli altri, Rihanna, Paul McCarteney e Kanye West con Four Five Seconds, Katy Perry – già reginetta del Super Bowl – con By the grace of god, Adam Levine dei Maroon 5 in duetto con Gwen Stefani, Madonna con Living for love, Lady Gaga e Ariana Grande.

L’evento non è stato trasmesso da nessun canale televisivo italiano, nemmeno a pagamento, ma gli appassionati hanno potuto seguirlo in diretta streaming sul sito ufficiale dei Grammy.

Per quanto riguarda le premiazioni, mattatore della serata è stato il cantautore Sam Smith, che si è aggiudicato quattro premi e che aveva cantato Stay with me insieme a Mary J. Blige. Tre premi, invece, per Rosanne Cash, nelle categorie Best American Roots Performance per il singolo A feather’s not a bird, Best American Roots Song e Best Americana Album. Premio postumo per Johnny Winter, cantante blues scomparso lo scorso luglio, a cui è stato assegnato il premio come Best Blues Album per Step black.

C’è stato spazio anche per un saluto di Obama a Robin Williams, un messaggio per ricordare l’attore scomparso meno di un anno fa.

In apertura, esibizione live degli AcDc, rock band intramontabile, e dulcis in fundo John Legend e Common con Glory, canzone nominata agli Oscar in Selma.
