Habana è il miglior giocatore in Sud Africa

Per la terza volta, dopo i riconoscimenti del 2005 e 2007, Brian Habana è stato votato il miglio giocatore sudafricano.
Il premio, a mio modo di vedere meritato, giunge al termine di un'ottima stagione per il 29enne, a riprova ci sono la semifinale di Super Rugby conquistata con gli Stormers, la vittoria in Currie Cup con il suo Western Province e le sette mete segnate nei test match del 2012 con gli Springbocks che alimentano il suo personalissimo tabellino fino a fargli toccare 47 alla voce mete segnate.
Purtroppo un infortunio al ginocchio, rimediato proprio nella finale di Currie Cup, lo terrà fuori dai test match di Novembre.
Western Province fanno incetta di premi, infatti, Demetri Catrakilis e Deon Fourie sono stati votati Vodacom Cup e Currie Cup Players of the Season rispettivamente e Eben Etzebeth è stato nominato Young Player of the Year.
Gli Sharks si consolano con altrettanti premi: il loro team di Currie Cup è Team of the Year e il loro head coach John Plumtree, è Coach of the Year. Il capitano Sharks Keegan Daniel è stato votato Super Rugby Player of the Year.
