Buono esordio del Chelsea sul campo del Burnley
La Premier League a lungo attesa è finalmente tornata lo scorso weekend.
Ed è ripartita da dove era finita: i campioni del Manchester City sono subito passati 2-0 sul campo del rinnovato Newcastle con le marcature di Silva e Aguero.
Il Liverpool, a lungo in corsa per il titolo lo scorso anno, ha dovuto invece faticare non poco per aver ragione del Southampton ad Anfield (2-1). Sturridge trovava il gol allo scadere, ma il Southampton, che in estate ha perso moltissimi giocatori chiave, sembra aver lavorato bene sul mercato e si ripropone per un’altra stagione di ottimo livello come quella scorsa, terminata all’ottavo posto.
Il Chelsea è la squadra che ha offerto l’impressione migliore nel weekend, surclassando il neopromosso Burnley per 3-1 al Turf Moor; i blues, pur passati presto in svantaggio, recuperavano subito grazie a uno scintillante Fabregas (passaggio illuminante per il gol di Schurrle), dopo che Diego Costa aveva dapprima impattato il risultato.Ivanovic segnava il gol definitivo, dando al Burnley una dura anticipazione di quanto lo aspetterà nella massima serie.
Problemi anche per l’Arsenal che ha ragione del Crystal Palace solo nel finale (2-1). Ramsey trova lo spiraglio nel tempo di recupero dopo che gli ospiti erano passati inaspettatamente a condurre. Palace, tra l’altro, privo del suo manager, dopo che Tony Pulis aveva abbandonato la squadra soltanto due giorni prima del via, al culmine di uno scontro con la dirigenza.
Il neopromosso Leicester City parte bene con un buon pareggio (2-2) al Walker Stadium contro l’Everton, con Chris Wood che trova il gol che dimezza la posta di una partita divertente che aveva visto l’Everton condurre per due volte.
Il Tottenham parte alla grande con una vittoria per 1-0 a domicilio del West Ham; è il giovane neo arrivato Eric Dier a regalare i tre punti agli Spurs nel tempo di recupero.
La grande sopresa del primo turno si verifica all’Old Trafford, dove la prima di Louis Van Gaal sulla panchina dei red devils si risolve in un’inaspettata sconfitta contro lo Swansea (1-2), che dimostra di meritare l’intera posta, col gol finale di Sigurdsson, dopo la splendida rovesciata dell’1-1 di Rooney. C’è ancora moltissimo da lavorare per l’esperto trainer olandese.
Il neopromosso QPR perde in casa (0-1) contro l’Hull City, finalista nell’ultima FA Cup.
Ottima partenza anche per l’Aston Villa che espugna col minimo scarto il campo dello Stoke City, grazie alla rete di Weimann. I Villans dimostrano di essere pronti alla lotta anche quest’anno.
West Bronwich e Sunderland danno vita all’Hawthorns ad un confronto intenso che termina in parità 2-2, con Berahino che trova per due volte la via della rete , pareggiando in ultimo il gol di Larsson che aveva illuso i black cats.
Il prossimo weekend vedrà il primo big match stagionale, col titanico scontro tra Manchester City e Liverpool.
Match interessanti anche quelli del Sunderland, che testa la reazione del Manchester United, e dell’Everton che ospita l’Arsenal.

The premier league made its long awaited comeback at the weekend and it was business as usual for champions Manchester City who opened there campaign with a 2-0 win at new look Newcastle with Silva and Aguero bagging the goals that gave them the perfect start.
last years runners up Liverpool were made to work very hard before eventually beating Southampton 2-1 at Anfield with Sturridge grabbing a late winner but Southampton who have lost a lot of key players over the summer look to have bought well and looked every bit as good as last season when they finished 8th. Chelsea looked the most impressive side of the opening weekend as they outclassed promoted Burnley 3-1 at Turf Moor despite falling behind early on as Fabregas ran the show in midfield laying on a goal for Schurrle after Costa had equalised on his debut , Ivanovic netted the other goal to give Burnley a tough reminder of what to expect in the premier league.
Arsenal left it very late before eventually beating Crystal Palace 2-1 at the Emirates to get off to the perfect start , Ramsey netting in stoppage time after managerless Palace had lead early on , Tony Pulis having quit as manager just 2 days before the season started after a fall out with the Palace board.
newly promoted Leicester City made a decent start as they held Everton to a 2-2 draw at the Walkers Stadium with Chris Wood netting 5 minutes from time to earn a share of the points after Everton had twice lead in an entertaining game.
Tottenham made a great start with a 1-0 win at West Ham with new signing Eric Dier netting in stoppage time to earn the points for Spurs. the big shock of the opening weekend was at Old Trafford as Louis Van Gaal’s first game in charge of Manchester United ended in defeat as Swansea claimed a deserved 2-1 win with Sigurdsson netting the winner despite Rooney earlier netting for the Reds , there looks to be a lot of work to do for the experienced Dutch manager. newly promoted QPR lost 1-0 at home to Hull City as last seasons fa cup runners up made a perfect start. there was a good start for Aston Villa as they won 1-0 at Stoke City with Weimann grabbing the winner for Villa who have been tipped to struggle again this season.
West Brom and Sunderland played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Hawthorns with Berahino netting twice for West Brom before Larsson earned a draw for Sunderland late on. this weekend sees the first big heavy weight clash of the season as Manchester City entertain Liverpool , also Everton host Arsenal and Sunderland take on Manchester United in the pick of the fixtures. – Wayne Bills.
