Il Manchester United mantiene il vantaggio di 7 punti in vetta al Campionato Inglese dopo una difficile vittoria casalinga per 2-1 contro gli acerrimi rivali del Liverpool, grazie ai goal di Van Persie e di Vidic, prima che Sturridge accorciasse le distanze per gli ospiti. Il Manchester City risponde vincendo una discussa partita per 2-0 nello stadio di casa dell’Arsenal, l’Emirates, dove Koscienly viene cacciato nei primi minuti, accompagnato da Kompany più tardi quando ormai i goal di Milner e Dzeko avevano già sigillato la vittoria del City, costringendo l’Arsenal a perdere ulteriore terreno dalle prime quattro in cima alla classifica. Il Chelsea torna terzo dopo aver posto fine alla lunga imbattibilità casalinga da record dello Stoke, con un 4-0 allo stadio Brittania, aiutato da due autogoal di John Walters. Gli Spurs sono quarti ma sono stati bloccati sullo 0-0 dal QPR, in continuo miglioramento, che ciononostante resta in fondo alla classifica. Anche l’Everton in quinta posizione viene fermato sullo 0-0 in casa dal combattivo Swansea che resta al nono posto. Il West Brom continua a vacillare, buttando via un vantaggio di 2-0 negli ultimi 8 minuti di gioco e perdendo per 3-2 in casa del Reading; ciò ridà nuove speranze ai “Royals” nonostante il 19esimo posto occupato. In fondo alla classifica il Sunderland piazza la vittoria più convincente della stagione con un 3-0 casalingo contro il West Ham, con un gran goal di Larsson; il West Ham resta a metà classifica e il Sunderland 14esimo. Il Norwich e il Newcastle mettono in scena un brutto 0-0 a Carrow Road, perlomeno utile a porre fine alla striscia di sconfitte di entrambe le squadre. Fulham e Wigan registrano un 1-1 a Craven Cottage col Fulham che continua a scivolare nella direzione sbagliata, mentre il Wigam risale dalla zona retrocessione fino alla 17esima posizione. La terribile striscia dell’Aston Villa continua con il generoso rigore concesso al Southampton che gli ha permesso di vincere per 1-0 al Villa Park; mentre la pressione sale nei confronti della squadra di Paul Lamberts, che è scesa tra le ultime 3 della classifica, i miglioramenti del Southampton lo fanno salire al 15esimo posto. Il Chelsea ha una possibilità di avvicinarsi alle prime due della classifica con la partita in casa contro il Southampton di mercoledì, prima di incontrare l’Arsenal nel prossimo fine settimana che vedrà anche il Tottenham contro il Manchester United e il Manchester City ospitare il Fulham.   ENGLISH (ORIGINAL) VERSION Man United maintain there 7 point lead at the top of the premiership after a hard thought 2-1 home win over bitter rivals Liverpool thanks to goals from Van Persie and Vidic before Sturridge got one back for the visitors. 
but Man City replyed by winning a controversial game at the Emirates 2-0 against Arsenal who had Koscielny sent off early on , Kompany also saw red later in the game but goals from Milner and Dzeko had already sealed the win as Arsenal lose yet more ground on the top 4. 
Chelsea are back up to 3rd after ending Stoke’s long unbeaten home record with a 4-0 win at the Brittania , aided by 2 own goals by John Walters. 
Spurs are 4th but were held 0-0 at improving QPR who remain bottom however. 
Everton in 5th were also held 0-0 at home to the battling Swansea who stay 9th. 
West Brom continue to falter as they threw away a 2-0 lead in the last 8 minutes to lose 3-2 at Reading to give the royals fresh hope against the drop tho they stay 19th for now. 
At the bottom end Sunderland put in there most convincing performance of the season in a 3-0 home win over West Ham with Larsson scoring a stunner , West Ham stay mid table and Sunderland 14th. 
Norwich and Newcastle played out a dire 0-0 at Carrow Road but at least end there losing runs. Fulham and Wigan drew 1-1 at Craven Cottage as Fulham continue to drift in the wrong direction , Wigan climb out of the drop zone in 17th. and Aston Villa’s awful run continued as a soft penalty was enough to secure Southampton a 1-0 win at Villa Park as pressure grows on Paul Lamberts side who drop into the bottom 3 , but Southampton’s improvement moves them up to 15th. 
Chelsea have a chance to close on the top 2 with there game in hand at home to Southampton on Wednesday before entertaining Arsenal in the pick of next weekends fixtures which also sees Tottenham take on Man United and Man City host Fulham.
