Il Manchester City ha ridotto la distanza a 5 punti dal capolista Manchester United dopo un weekend pieno di eventi in Premier, il City ha passeggiato contro il combattivo Fulham con una vittoria casalinga per 2-0 con 2 goal di David Silva per poi vedere Clint Dempsey stordire il Manchester United, bloccandoli a tempo scaduto con un pareggio in casa del Tottenham per 1-1 dopo che lo United aveva comandato a lungo grazie ad un altro goal di Van Persie. Il Chelsea è a ridosso alle posizioni di altra classifica dopo una vittoria in casa per 2-1 contro l’Arsenal, accumulando ancor più stress sulla compagine di Arsene Wenger che si trova ora 6° in classifica, 7 punti sotto l’ultimo posto utile per la Champions League, con il Chelsea ora a 11 punti dalla vetta e in 3° posizione. Anche l’Everton ha perso terreno dal 4° posto degli Spurs dopo essere stati fermati sullo 0-0 a Southampton, rimanendo al 5°. La buona forma del Liverpool continua con una roboante vittoria per 5-0 in casa contro il Norwich con il nuovo Daniel Sturridge, fresco di contratto, in goal al debutto, trovandosi così in 7° posizione dietro l’Arsenal solo per la differenza reti per goal segnati. Il West Brom si trova 8°, dopo aver combattuto per risalire in casa da uno 0-2 fino al pareggio per 2-2 contro l’Aston Villa che resta 17°. Lo Swansea è in buona forma e batte per 3-1 lo Stoke al Liberty Stadium nonostante il goal di Michael Owen per gli ospiti; entrambe restano a metà classifica. I miglioramenti del Sunderland continuano con un vittorioso 3-2 fuori casa contro il Wigam, risalendo al 11° posto e lasciando il Wigam in un problematico 19° posto. In fondo alla classifica il QPR si guadagna un prezioso pareggio 1-1 contro il West Ham, con Loic Remy in rete al suo debutto, ma resta a 5 punti lontano dalla salvezza mentre il West Ham rimane 12°. Il Newcastle è seriamente nei guai dopo una sconfitta casalinga per 2-1 contro il Reading che li lascia 16°, appena 2 punti sopra zona retrocessione, il Reading resta 18° con un solo punto di ritardo dall’Aston Villa. La Premier League si prende una pausa questo weekend con il ritorno della FA Cup col 4° turno di coppa.

 Man city close the gap to 5 points on leaders man united after an eventfull weekend in the premiership, City strolled to a 2-0 home win over struggling Fulham with 2 goals for David Silva and then saw Clint Dempsey stun Man United with a stoppage time leveler to earn Tottenham a 1-1 draw at home to United after United lead for a long time through another Van Persie goal.

Chelsea are just about in the title frame after a 2-1 home win over Arsenal piled more pressure on Arsene Wenger’s struggling side who are now 7 points off a Champions League spot in 6th , Chelsea are now 11 points off the top in 3rd.

Everton also lost ground on 4th placed Spurs after being held 0-0 at Southampton and stay 5th.

Liverpool’s good form continued with a thumping 5-0 home win over Norwich with new signing Daniel Sturridge scoring on his home debut and are now 7th behind Arsenal only on goal difference.

West Brom are 8th after fighting back from 2 down to earn a 2-2 draw at home to Aston Villa who stay 17th.

Swansea were in fine form as they beat stoke 3-1 at the liberty stadium despite a Michael Owen goal for the visitors , both stay mid table.

Sunderland’s improvement continued with a 3-2 away win at Wigan climbing them to 11th and leaving Wigan in more trouble in 19th.

At the bottom end QPR earned a valuable 1-1 draw at west ham with Loic Remy netting on his debut but they stay bottom 5 points adrift of safety , West Ham are 12th.

Newcastle are now in deep trouble tho after a 2-1 home defeat to Reading leaves them in 16th just 2 points above the drop zone , Reading stay in 18th but are just a point behind Aston Villa.

The Premier League takes a rest this weekend as the fa cup 4th round takes centre stage.
