Con la primavera che si avvicina, le giornate che si allungano ed il tempo che si fa (o perlomeno dovrebbe farsi) via via più caldo, ricompare la voglia andare per mercatini o negozietti vintage in cerca di qualcosa di speciale, non necessariamente superfirmato, qualcosa di unico che ti possa permettere di vestire in un modo originale e diverso dalla massa. Cercare di non essere omologati in una moda totalitaria e omogenea è un'esigenza che forse non hanno tutti, ma che sicuramente molti sentono.La prova sta nel fatto che quello che ammiriamo di più nelle ragazze inglesi e Newyorkesi non è certo la classe o l’eleganza, ma la fantasia e l’originalità nell’abbinare i vestiti, proprio perché mescolano tutto e nessuna sembra uscita da una vetrina griffata. Ma se il mix personale è importante, la ricerca fondamentale: questa è la parte bella del vintage. 
Molti designer, e lo si può tranquillamente vedere anche in passerella, saccheggiano i negozi vintage e poi ripropongono quasi tali e quali gli stessi vestiti. Con tre conseguenze: la consapevolezza della necessità di dover guardare sempre al passato per andare avanti, con la sensazione di andare di nuovo a scuola ad una lezione di storia del costume; lo sconsiderato aumento dei prezzi nei negozi vintage, perché avendo capito il gioco, i proprietari vendono carissimi i loro prodotti e la facilità di riprodurre questa moda da parte di grandi catene di distribuzione, con la conseguente inflazione del valore dei capi vintage firmati.
Allora tanto vale ripartire direttamente dalla fonte! Fidatevi, una volta che comincerete ad andare per negozietti vintage, vi si aprirà un mondo e non vorrete più tornare indietro! ;)
